What's next?
Getting started with therapy can be hard. Let's discuss in depth about what to expect with this process moving forward.
Let's Begin
If it feels like I might be a match, let's coordinate to schedule a 15-minute phone call.
-
During the 15-minute phone call, we can discuss more in-depth about what you are looking for from a therapist, and whether your concerns are something that I can help with.
-
Please call your insurance ahead of time to see if you have any co-pays or deductibles. It is the client's responsibility to be aware of co-pays or deductibles prior to the intake appointment.
-
Moving on from the initial phone consultation, I will send you a link through Simple Practice to create your client portal. This is an important step because this is where all of your paperwork will be sent.
-
There will be forms, questionnaires, and assessments that need to be completed prior to the first appointment.
First Session and Beyond
The first session, is known as the intake session.
-
During the intake session, we will work together to identify the treatment goals you would like to accomplish in therapy.
-
This will be the basis of your treatment plan, otherwise known as the "road map for treatment". This is a flexible plan that identifies what the most important things are for you to feel like you are making progress.
-
The intake session will also be where we discuss the approach that would fit for you. This could be potentially CBT, DBT, EMDR, or utilizing the Flash technique.
